WHAT’S NEXT? FIGURE IT OUT WITH THE LINK
Our goal is reaching young people early, guiding their choices, and supporting them long-term.
SIX HUBS. MORE PATHWAYS. A NEW WAY TO THINK ABOUT WHAT COMES AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, in partnership with Richmond Ed Fund and Richmond Public Schools, is building The Link to give young people a place to explore what fits, ask real questions, and see more of what is possible after high school. From college and skilled trades to entrepreneurship, technical training, and the changing world of work, The Link will make future paths visible and more next steps possible.

Absolutely, we believe that beginning the career exploration journey as early as possible is critical to success. Here’s a breakdown of a student’s journey through all four years of the Link:
In their first years, students are introduced to the Link Coach and shown the pathways that they could take to build a stable future after graduation.
In their sophomore and junior years, students are given opportunities to learn and gain knowledge and skillsets to help them prepare for the future careers they’ve identified as being the most interested in.
In their junior or senior years, students are given opportunities to go out and work in their chosen industries, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and an understanding of how to apply what they’ve learned in school to a future career.
-
RVA Builds is one of our strongest partners, coordinating with employer partners to provide a pathway for students who are interested in the skilled trades specifically to learn those trades, gain real-world experience before graduating, and be placed into the careers that they desire.
The Link is the in-school, coach-driven connection between the students and a wide variety of possible careers. More partners in training, placement, and programming will be announced soon. -
